IB Asia Pacific In-school Workshops: PYP, MYP and DP

IB Asia Pacific in-school workshops provide schools with the opportunity to train their entire IB programme staff on their own school premises, and to focus upon select programme issues and strategies. These workshops are recognized for school authorization and evaluation purposes. While they are useful in addressing particular school needs, it is understood that they form only a part of the school’s broader IB professional development portfolio, including participation in regional workshop training, on-line workshop training, and conferences.

Please follow these 10 simple steps to ensure that your in-school workshop runs smoothly.

Step 1:

Go to the In-school workshop requirements site to ensure that you understand the procedures and your requirements in organizing an in-school workshop.

Step 2:

Go to the In-school workshop offerings site to review the range of in-school workshops available and select the one that suits your school needs.

Step 3:

Go to the In-school workshop request site to submit your in-school workshop request.

Upon completion of the on-line request process, an auto-message should appear on your screen confirming that your request has been submitted successfully.

Step 4:

Within 4 weeks, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of the in-school workshop request.

Step 5:

3 to 4 months prior to the event you will receive an email with the workshop details and the participant registration list so you may correspond with your assigned workshop leader(s). Please note, that cancellation of the workshop after this step will incur the standard cancellation fee.

Step 6:

1 month prior to the event you must ensure that you have filled in the participant registration list and sent it to your assigned workshop leader(s). Please ensure that the details are accurate as this document will be used to create the participants’ workshop certificates.  The workshop leader(s) will ensure that the participants indicated on the spreadsheet are present in the workshop. If participant names need to be added or changed, the final details must be confirmed with the leader(s) at the start of the workshop. Please note: workshop leaders are required to enforce the maximum teacher / participant ratio of 1 to 25. Schools will not be permitted to exceed the participant limit.

Step 7:

Upon completion of the workshop, the workshop leader(s) will submit the updated spreadsheet to the IB Asia Pacific regional office.
Please note:  Workshop leader(s) will record attendance at the workshop each day. Only participants who have been at the workshop each day will receive a certificate.

Step 8:

Upon completion of the workshop, staff must complete the participant’s on-line evaluation form. The school administrator must complete the administrator’s on-line evaluation form.  The workshop leader(s) will complete workshop leader on-line evaluation form. Links to these will be available on the original email.

Step 9:

Upon receipt of the workshop leader’s confirmed participants’ list, the IB Asia Pacific regional office will issue you an invoice for the amount due.

Step 10:

“Certificates of attendance” will be issued to your school when:

  • the administrator’s on-line evaluation form has been submitted
  • participant’s on-line evaluation forms have been submitted
  • confirmation of expense reimbursement and honorarium paid to workshop leader
  • Proof of payment has been received.
